CONDUCTOR GRAHAM DEAD.
Buried With Masonic Ceremonies on Sunday John W, Graham, a well-known conductor on the Northern Railroad, died at his home, in Nyack, on Thursday evening, of paresis. He was in his 47th year. Funeral services were held at his late residence, corner of Prospect Street and Hudson Avenue, on Sunday, at 3:15 p. m. The Rev. J. Riley Johnson officiated, assisted by the Rev. Abram Blauvelt. There was Masonic services by Wawayanda Lodge, No. 315, of Piermont, of which the deceased was long a member, and the members of Rockland Lodge are invited to join. The interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery. John W. Graham was born at Orangeburgh, this County, on Nov. 1st, 1850. His parents were Philip and Ann Graham, well-known residents of that place. At the age 18 years, John went on the Northern Railroad as brakeman, and nine years later, in May 1876, he was promoted to the position of conductor, which he held up to his death; more than twenty-and-a-half years. Mr. Graham was married in September, 1872, to Miss Rachel Ann Spencer, daughter of Isaac Spencer, now deceased, of Sparkill. Two sons, Isaac Spencer and John Perry Graham, were born to them. A few years ago Mr. and Mrs. Graham removed to Nyack, where they soon made many friends. Mr. Graham for a time was associated in the grocery business, in DePew Place, with Peter Palmer, the fIrm being Graham & Palmer. Mr. Graham still continued in his position as conductor, however, and later withdrew from the grocery business. Mr. Graham's first service on the Northern road was under Conductor Abram Blauvelt, who has ever been one of his firmest friends. Mr. Graham was a genial, warm-hearted man, whom everybody liked, He was popular as conductor, as a citizen, as a friend and was a kind husband and father. The family have the sympathy of many friends,
