Belletristisches Journal

Description

This was Rudolph Lexow's German language newsaper. According to his granddaughter Caroline Lexow Babcock, his aim in establishing the newspaper was to "give homesick German living in America a paper of their own where news of the fatherland would be conveyed to them in their own language, and second, to interpret to them the customs and habits of their adopted country."
