OBITUARY.

A. THOMPSON BLAUVELT. On Saturday morning last, at twenty minutes past ten o'clock, Mr. A. Thompson Blauvelt, one of the best-known and most highly respected citizens of Blauvelt, this county, passed away after an illness of a short length of time. The primary cause of his death was Bright's disease of the kidneys, which, it is supposed, caused blood poisoning, and pulmonary embolism, or heart clot, carried him off. Some time previously he had complained of a severe pain in one of his limbs, and upon examination it was found that the circulation in one of the veins was suspended. The same symptom was noticed in tbe upper part of his body later, and on Saturday morning he died. He was in his 67th year. Funeral services were held in the church at Blauvelt on Monday afternoon, at 1:30 o'clock, and the edifice was completely filled. The Rev. Dr. C. S. Hageman and the Rev. Henry Decker officiated. The services were solemn and impressive, and the excellent man who formed the subject of them will never be forgotten by his many friends.
