THE REV. JOSEPH McC. LEIPER'S WIFE TAKEN
Fanny Smith, beloved wife of the Rev. Joseph McC. Leiper, Pastor of the Presbyterian Church of Blauvelt, died at her home in that place Friday, after a long illness. Mr. and Mrs. Leiper were married five years ago last March, and went out to lndian Territory, where they spent three years. They came from there to Blauvelt, where they have resided since, for two years. Six months ago Mrs. Leiper's health failed, and she and her husband took a trip to Europe last Summer, remaining abroad six weeks. After they returned to this country, they went to Saranac Lake in the effort to bring back Mrs. Leiper's wonted health. But even the recuperative influences of that region failed, and yesterday afternoon, at 3:30 o'clock, she passed away. Mrs. Leiper will be much missed, not only by her devoted husband, but by all in the community who knew her, She entered upon the duties of a pastor's wife with a full realization of all the responsibilities involved, and labored faithfully by words and good works among the people, to whom she became warmly attached. Her high Christian character, as exemplified in her daily life, acted as a beacon light for those who sought the ways of righteousness, and the example which she set will ever be bright and lasting. Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church, Blauvelt, on Tuesday, at 2 p. m.
